Customers may apply to change the personal photo printed on the renewed ID or amending any of his/her data on the ID or replace the ID if it is lost or damaged.

Prerequisites

UAE National who obtains social welfare (over the age of 15 years)

  • Original passport (or a facsimile)
  • Original family book (or a facsimile)
  • The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.

Service Fees

  • AED 150 for application to service centers for all residents in UAE including UAE nationals, GCC nationals and expatriates, in case of ID availability and the desire to change personal data or photo printed on the ID. Application fees (AED 70 is collected in case of submitting the application through printing offices or AED 40 in case of submitting e-applications through EIDA website) will be added.
  • AED 300 in case of losing or damaging ID for all residents in UAE including UAE nationals, GCC nationals and expatriates. Application fees (AED 70 is collected in case of submitting the application through printing offices or AED 40 in case of submitting e-applications through EIDA website) will be added.
  • AED 150 express service fees in main service centers for all residents in UAE including UAE nationals, GCC nationals and expatriates.
  • The customer will not pay any fees in case of receiving IDs including wrong personal data which is inconsistent with supporting documents.

Service Scope

  • Changing photo
  • Changing any of the data printed on ID e.g (photo, name or nationality).
  • replacing broken or lost ID.

Service Eligibility

All UAE nationals, GCC nationals, expats and residents hold UAE IDs.

Service Policies

  • If the customer’s lost or stolen ID is found, EIDA’s customer service agent will contact the customer via telephone without any fees required.
  • If the customer wishes to change the personal data or photo printed on the ID the way he/she prefers, he/she will pay fees for replacement.
  • In case of lost, damaged or stolen IDs, customers will pay fees for replacement.
  • If the customer receives ID including wrong personal data which is inconsistent with supporting documents, he/she may go to the nearest service center for free replacement.

Service level agreement

  • ID shall be issued within 48 hours from the time of submitting the replacement application
  • ID shall be delivered to those who apply for the Express service within 24 hours from the time the replacement application is submitted.
