The Emirates ID Authority won the Best Federal Entity in service provision in the 4th edition of Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Awards 2016 as a part of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Dubai Ruler, handed the award to HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli, Director General of the Emirates ID Authority, during the ceremony held by Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme at Emirates Palace Hotel – Abu Dhabi to honor the award and PM medal winners.
HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli, Director General of the Emirates ID Authority, said that he was proud of the Emirates ID Authority for winning the Best Federal Entity in service provision in the 4th edition of Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Awards 2016 as a part of Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme. This award is an honor for each employee of the Emirates ID Authority, said Dr. Al Ghafli. It motivates and encourages employees to exert more efforts to enable the Emirates ID Authority to be among excellent entities in all areas and to collect as much awards as possible in the following editions.
Dedicating this win to HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates ID Authority, Dr. Al Ghafli stressed that instructions and support of Their Highnesses Sheikhs are the compass that shows us the way to develop the Emirates ID Authority's practice and tools at different levels. Dr. Al Ghafli undertook to continue the Emirates ID Authority's experience and take it to more excellent and innovative levels in order to consolidate the international reputation of our beloved country and achieve the UAE Vision 2021 that seeks to make the UAE one of the best countries by its golden jubilee.
Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme has enabled the governmental entities to bring its performance and services to the best international levels to be in line with the vision of our wise leadership under HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and instructions of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Dubai Ruler, said Dr. Al Ghafli. This vision focuses on launching initiatives and development projects in all walks of life in the UAE, he said. This would bring happiness to people and consolidate culture of innovation and excellence among the public sector employees.
The Emirates ID Authority currently focuses on excellence in three points; First: Maintain quality of data in population register to enable well-informed decision making based on accurate and scientific information and contribute effectively to building the security and economy of the UAE; Second: bring services offered to customers to levels that beat their expectations and bring happiness to them achieving the wise leadership's vision for the governmental business; Third: continue to develop the e-connection project in cooperation with all the state institutions in order to support the electronic and smart transformation.
Three customer service centers of the Emirates ID Authority obtained 5 stars in the Global Star Rating Program for Service under the Emirates Government Services Excellence Program while five other centers obtained 4 stars, Dr. Al Ghafli said. Such achievements, he said, are one step on the road to 7-star rating in services and data.
38 public entities had competed for the award in the 4th edition, which includes 22 awards including 10 for federal entities and 12 for individuals under the prime minister's medals. The participants were from 14 ministries and 24 governmental entities with 386 nominations (172 males and 214 females) for the prime minister's medals.
In its 4th edition launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the government excellence system aims to promote the governmental work based on innovative result-oriented standards that focus on three points: Achieve the vision, innovation and enablers.
